About Naomi

 Hi, I'm Naomi Wilkins, and I'm The Happy Bookkeeping Coach!  I have been supporting businesses with their in-house and outsourced bookkeeping for over 10 years.   I have been both in a contracted role, and also was employed with a Business Tax Preparation Firm assisting clients with CRA Audits and Reviews.

I was inspired to write about creating strong foundations when starting a business, because so often the important things are missed or misunderstood, and are hard to correct for after the business has started to take off.  Business owners would see out a bookkeeper or accountant at the end of the year with no idea what taxes they owed, and often late on their payments.  They were working against themselves with their recordkeeping, making ill-informed business decisions, ultimately with no control over their business or cash flow.  They had no idea how what they were doing effected their profit and their taxes.  They were in stark contrast to my clients who monitored their financials monthly, planned ahead, and had practices in place that saved them time and money.  There is a big difference between surviving and thriving.

Misconceptions and missed deadlines can be the cause of a great loss of money, time, and success.  Too often small business owners are overwhelmed with all there is to know and do, and miss what the important, practical, and often simple things are, that create a strong foundation for their success.

I am passionate about sharing with others what I have seen that can bring control and success to their business, in that golden hour before it takes off, at the very beginning.  I want to bring attention to what basics are important to know to create a strong foundation and increase the potential of entrepreneurs to create a wildly successful business. 

This is your golden hour.  Understand what you need to do and set up processes and controls to get it done.  Do not let it just happen, because it will not just happen!  You need to be intentional!  Now is your time to focus on what you need to know at the start to set up the strong foundations of your business.  Then on those strong foundations, build up and forward.  Take care of your business, and it will take care of you.
